Day 2

Kilimanjaro Shira Plateau one day hike

Embark on a scenic drive to Londrossi (West Kilimanjaro) through the West Kilimanjaro Forest Reserve. After registration, drive into Kilimanjaro National Park via a rugged 4x4 track to the heather and moorland zone. Hike begins at the Morrum Barrier, where the Shira Plateau unfolds with alpine flora, dramatic ridges, and views. Enjoy lunch at Shira 1 Camp before retracing steps back to Moshi.

Note

Kilimanjaro Shira Plateau one day hike suitable for low to medium fitness levels, lasts approximately 2-4 hours with the option to extend based on your pace and energy.
