Unique, delicious gourmet food plus a hospitable and kind team of staff right from the reception. The foyer was beautifully decorated in a Christmas theme adding a homely, welcoming dazzle. I really enjoyed my experience.

Recently reopened. There is still some work to do. The staff were friendly. The set ups for tea break was okay but no spoons. Lunch setup and ambience excellent..but hard to get where the plates are for food or dessert. They are hidden underneath or on another table...
Otherwise very neat and tidy and well laid out lunch cuisine with food on actual electric heaters and "permanent" labelling on the cooker surface of the food type as opposed to using papers next to the food. This was novel.

Magnficent Hotel with impressive layout. While having the possibility to see the British style from over 100 ago, you can also feel the modern athmosphere if you are looking for one. Fascinating courtyard with a very nice garden. Not to miss if you will stay in Nairobi.

We stayed at the Fairmont Norfolk at the end of June.  The hotel is old world.  Very nice rooms and hotel property.  I highly suggest booking the seafood night (happens once a month) if you are lucky to be there when it happens.  It was great and very inexpensive and they even had live music.  The bar staff was so friendly.  My neck and back was killing me from the flight so I booked a massage, which was the best I have ever had and booked a second one the next day.  My back felt amazing the rest of the trip?

My husband and I got married in Nairobi and so stayed at this hotel for the duration of the wedding prep and on the wedding night. We stayed here with some family members who had travelled to Kenya to join us for the wedding. The stay was generally good and comfortable, the staff were all friendly and the food was good.
Our room had a plumbing issue on checking in but this was promptly fixed once we informed them.
As we had stayed here for some time, we requested to have something special in the room for our wedding night to make the room feel different and special. Because this was important to us, this is something we would have been happy to pay for as an extra service. We informed the staff quite a few times so they wouldn't forget about it.
Wedding day came and was successful and we were looking forward to retiring to our room with something special after a long day. But lo and behold, we entered the room and there was nothing done. Nothing at all. Not even some flower petals or chocolate. It looked the same as it always had everyday we had been there.
This was very disappointing especially as we had specifically requested it and were assured it would be done. And now it will forever be part of our wedding day memory of the one thing that was disappointing on an otherwise perfect day.

I was also impressed by the cleanliness of the room. It was spotless, and the comfort of the bed made for a restful night's sleep. Plus, the affordable rates make this place a great value for your money.

Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport

I was finishing a month long trip to Tanzania Uganda and Kenya involving climbing Kilimanjaro and a lot of Village education work.   Very tired.

The staff, especially Peter was so accommodating and helpful.  I had great lunches and was able to rest   The gym was clean and well equipped and the pool lovely and peaceful.

My flight home was cancelled and staff came and got me at the airport and let me reopen my room.  I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and especially the staff.    And they know how to make a hamburger and fries to make an American girl happy!

The hotel lobby, pool and restaurants are well maintained but the bedrooms have small issues such as power sockets and lights not working.

The room are clean, the beds are comfy and a iron is provided. The desk has plenty of sockets to power all your devices.

Customer service is not great and staff do not seem to have a good understanding of how to provide a basic level of customer service. Although they are all very polite and say please and thank you but it comes across as inauthentic. This was highlighted during my trip when I wanted to freshen up before my late night flight and they offered a room at $250 instead of offering the changing room at $25 or for free as you would get in other Sheraton hotels.

Overall good hotel, convenient.
Service level is high, and staff are attentive. I would single out our waiter Samuel for his patience with a big group, and attentiveness to our needs. Samuel really contributed in making our dinner night better.

My recent stay at this Nairobi hotel, conveniently located next to the airport and the Nairobi National Park, exceeded my expectations in more ways than one. This establishment boasts an ambiance reminiscent of a Sheraton, offering a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere that travelers will appreciate. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional level of service and the incredible support provided by the General Manager, Natasha Grace.

What truly distinguishes this hotel, though, is the extraordinary level of care and attention to detail exhibited by the staff, led by General Manager Natasha Grace. Unfortunately, I had to cut my stay short due to a personal emergency. In the rush to leave, I accidentally left several valuable items, including a significant amount of cash, in the room's safe. I realize of that hours later.
However, from the moment I reached out to the hotel to report my mistake, Natasha Grace and her team demonstrated unparalleled professionalism and dedication. Natasha personally handled the situation with efficiency and empathy. She immediately coordinated with the housekeeping staff to secure my belongings and ensure their safekeeping. Within a short time, I received a call confirming that my items were secured and ready for retrieval.

In conclusion, this Nairobi hotel offers not only a convenient location but also an exceptional level of service and support that is a cut above the rest.

Visiting Ol Pejeta Conservancy is generally safe, with the reserve taking precautions to ensure the security of its visitors and wildlife. Perfect day to see almost all the big five. Many animals were out despite the dryness and dusty environment. We took a guide at the entrance. Patrick was just fantastic in his explanations. The kids loved to feed Baraka, the blind rhino.

Ol Pejeta is the most wonderful place on earth for African wildlife conservation. Everything you can imagine to see, you can at Ol Pejeta. The animals are living authentic wild lives. The experience is wild. Within minutes of arriving at Ol Pejeta, we had already seen a herd of elephants, crash of rhinos and pride of lions (post hunt, bellies full and sated). The dedication, knowledge and love the rangers and guides have for the animals is unquestionable. Our guide, Manu, went above and beyond to give us the best experience. Nothing was too much. And his knowledge and love for his Kenyan homeland and animals wonderful to see. Thank you Manu

If you're coming from abroad, you will first need to fly into one of Kenya's major international airports, such as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, or Moi International Airport in Mombasa. Then, you will need a domestic flight to Nanyuki Airstrip, or for a shorter drive, Kamok Airstrip.

Asilia Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

Our first time to Africa and I'm overwhelmed with gratitude to Asilia for making it incredibly spectacular! For context, we travel quite a bit and I have a pretty low tolerance for bad customer service, aka I'm kind of picky! From the communication prior to leaving for our trip to the second we arrived in Nanyuki, we've been dazzled by the exceptional service and incredible level of care and attention to detail. Wonderful accomodations, with little perks of solar powered hot water showers, wonderful bathing products, turndown service with hot water bottles,
robes, and laundry service. The food is some of the best food I've eaten...every bite absolutely delicious. Plus they accommodated my vegan husband and dairy-free daughter with delicious meals. But, the game drives took the prize. Hours of finding everything we wanted to see and adjusting as the animals gave us unexpected shows that we just couldn't leave. I looked at more than 6 safari companies before choosing here and I have zero regrets. I don't know what pricier accomodations could possibly offer over Asilia as we got everything we could hope for! On to Asilia's Encounter Mara tomorrow and I have no doubt it will equal our time in Ol Pajeta.

What an unbelievable oasis!  We booked  ol pejeta last minute because amboseli was booked up and we are so thankful we got into this camp. Everything about this place was amazing. From the managers (Sushil and Ezina), the safari guides (Dhuma), hospitality staff, chefs, the escorts to the rooms, EVERYONE felt like family. This place was a small 7 tent camp, which made it feel intimate and we were able to eat with other guests family style and get to know the staff really well, which we loved. The food was home cooked and fresh. The tents were kept clean and they would set it up every afternoon and night like we were royalty. Guides were excellent with bush camp meals while showing us the animals. Highly recommend this camp! Thank you everyone who made it special.

Spent 3 nights at the camp. Service was great. The staff very knowledgeable. Our guide Yusuf made our game drives a unique experience. We enjoy it very much. Definitely  a recommendation!

We took a trip to Kenya, and the focus and hype was a lot on Maasai Mara. But the first place we visited was Ol Pejeta Bush Camp, and truthfully after traveling through Kenya this camp definitely has my heart. Nelson, our guide, was the nicest, kindest, most knowledgeable and passionate guide we found throughout our safari trip. Maggie was such a pleasure to be around, and while I cannot recall rest of the crew’s name, each and every one made our stay comfortable and memorable.

Thanks to Nelson, our game viewing was excellent. He often went out of his way to ensure we saw as many animals as possible, a particular highlight being quickly finding a cheetah near our airstrip while we had 15 mins left for our departure! We also participated in lion tracking, which was very informative and fun and got to see the most adorable lion cubs. The highlight of course, was the last two remaining northern white rhinos, and the blind black rhino Baraka. The camp ensured all our transfers and activities happened smoothly, and the conservancy itself is doing a fantastic job.

The camp is fenced, and the tents were extremely comfortable, clean and well maintained. At night, they slipped in hot water bags under our blankets which we very much appreciated. We slept to the sounds of lions at night, and woke up to hippos swimming and grazing outside our tent. One afternoon while we just relaxed in the tent enjoying the view after a game drive, we saw an elephant with two of her babies stroll outside our tent. The fence is ideally placed, at a distance where you can see / hear wildlife, yet feel completely secure. The food was great too! The chef was so accommodating and kind throughout. I highly recommend staying here for a more private, exclusive and 1:1 with nature kinda experience, that isn’t always possible at the Mara.

Best Safari experience! A must go when you would like to see African wildlife and especially in Kenya! Even saw several little lion cups and so many other animals in just one day of safari!

You're gonna have fun! Remember to carry with you some snacks and $$ if you are ready to dine in their expensive hotels!
You'll see every other wild animal if you start your safari early in the morning.

Fantastic safari experience with our driver Peter who ensured that we saw the big 5 on our first day. However the following day our car got stuck for 4hours due to the heavy rain the night before. I guess it’s all in the experience. FYI - Pack some snacks and drinks as it’s a long day in the park. Lovely to see the animals up close in their natural habitat. Take repellent, SPF and layered clothing as it’s cold in morning and evening but hot during the day.

The Mara is amazing place however the place is full of tourists. Because of heavy rains most of the small roads were closed so everyone was on the main road. You will see amazing things but you won't be alone

Each camp has its nearest airstrip, making air travel convenient. For Lemala Ndutu Tented Camp, the nearest airstrip is Ndutu Airstrip, just a 30-minute drive away. For Lemala Mara Tented Camp, the nearest airstrip is Kogatende Airstrip, only a 25-minute drive away. Guests can arrange flights to these airstrips from major airports in Tanzania, including Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha Airport, or from other safari destinations in the region. Transfers from the airstrips to the respective camps are provided by the camp management for added ease.

Both Lemala Mara & Ndutu Tented Camps are accessible by road, but the routes may vary depending on the location of the camps. Guests can arrange road transfers from major cities and towns in Tanzania, such as Arusha, to reach the camps.

Lemala Camp was simply amazing. From the staff to the room to our amazing safari guide Hassan. Highly recommended to ask for him as a guide for the safari. He is very knowledgeable and gives you so many insights about the safari and animals.
The experience overall was a dream and would definitely recommend this camp if you are looking for a luxury camp in Serengeti.

We stayed with this Lemala Camp for 3 nights during our 2 week trip to Africa and it was our favorite part! The ultimate glamping experience with some of the kindest people you will meet!

- knowledge of Game Guides / Drivers was outstanding. Bosco and Robert were the best! They worked hard to help us see everything we came for and made us feel so safe the entire time. Also very friendly and kind men! We adored them.
- Service was also great. Our butler Bruno was amazing brining tea and coffee with our early wake up calls every morning. Also turning down our room, refreshing the room while we are out, making sure we had plenty drinking water, hot shower water, etc. In the main hangout area the staff is so kind and attentive making sure your glass is always full and you’re comfortable.

We stayed at Lemala Mara camp for three nights as part of our two week African trip. We were looking for a more rustic setting, rather than the luxury lodges we had been staying in during the rest of our excursion.  This was perfect.  We had our own tent with private bath, well separated from the remaining guest tents and central lounge/dining tent.  At night, several animal sounds were heard.  We left or tent flaps open so we could see the Zebras and Wildebeest feeding out front.  One evening, the wildebeest gathering for a crossing actually parted around our tent!

The meals were excellent and Service was great.  They tried to meet  our every need.  Camp manager Godwin, tent attendant Joel and tour guide Robert were knowledgeable and fun.

So, if you want the feeling of being with the animals while being treated luxuriously, this is a place for you.

Lemala Mara

Lemala Mara & Ndutu Tented Camps provide spacious and comfortable tents, each furnished with two queen-size beds and luxurious amenities that ensure a surprisingly comfortable stay. After an evening game drive, your tent attendant ensures that your safari shower is filled with hot water, allowing you to wash away the dust of the African savannah and relax. Air Kenya Aviation, Aircraft Leasing Services, and Eagle Aviation provide daily flights to the Mara region, landing at the nearby Ngerende airstrip, which is only 10 minutes from the Club. Note that a standard baggage allowance of 15 kgs, including hand luggage, applies, and airport tax is payable when purchasing your ticket.

While the Mara region is less accessible by private car, professional ground transfers can be arranged. International travelers are recommended to consult with the hotel's knowledgeable reservation specialists for specific information and recommendations.

Fairmont Mara Safari Club

The accommodation itself is pretty nice, but there are some „hidden“ costs, that you need to take into consideration at time of booking. The hotel offers charming tents with nice atmosphere, good food, mostly friendly staff and Joseph was a really great guide.
The only thing, we could complain about is the transfer, that is not included and pretty expensive with 400$ one way from Nairobi and the conservancy fee (90$ per night), that we did not know anything about before, so this came up pretty surprising.
Apart from this, we enjoyed our stay a lot.

My husband and I stayed at the Fairmont Mara Safari Club in July.  The tents are beautiful.  All the amenities of a hotel.  We loved being on the river with the hippos.  The bar staff was so friendly.  Such a great start to our safari.

What a week to be alive in the Maasai Mara! We truly enjoyed our 6-night stay at the Fairmont Safari Club and have so many staff members to give shoutouts to for such a wonderful and accommodating experience.

Greeted by Hannah on the first day, we knew we’d be set up for success and thanks to Valentine, Walter, Gerald, Saruni, Mary, the camp medic, Naomi (masseuse with hands of gold), our game driver Mike and junior guide Brandon who spotted the elusive leopard on Day 2 plus all the others!

A long stay at Fairmont gave us the chance to soak it all in and see all the animals we could’ve hoped for. We saw all the Big 5 and especially enjoyed Mike’s knowledge of birds which is something new we hadn’t explored before.

While we were traveling as just adults this trip, we found it inspiring that many parents had their children with them on safari. We hope to be back with our children someday so they too can see all the goodness that Fairmont Mara has to offer.

We stayed in Tent #34 for the week with great views of the Mara River and enjoyed the hippos, baboons, birds and bush buck from the comfort of our tent. We also coordinated a quick stopover at Fairmont Norfolk in Nairobi that they were so helpful to assist with.

If you’re scouting where to stay, I highly recommend Fairmont Mara for a 5-star experience. Thank you for a wonderful time!!

The accommodations at Fairmont Mara Safari Club are 38 beautifully appointed tented rooms, each a harmonious blend of traditional Maasai and heritage safari styles. Mara Intrepids Tented Camp

Some parts of the resort were excellent such as the food and staff.  But not having electricity or hot water during a portion of each day was frustrating to say the least.  (They turn the electricity off during parts of the day and at midnight which also turns off the hot water).  Usually this happens when most of the guests are off on safari but if you stay back on an afternoon you will lose electricity.  The water in the sinks just trickle out and it is difficult, at times, to get enough water to flush toilets.

The property is run down in some areas such as the pool (a lot of spots in the pool) and the cushions in the pool seating were torn at places.

Several of our group also had an ant infestation in their rooms with ants all over their luggage (that was on furniture) which was frustrating.

The staff are top notch and the food and drinks were excellent.  Early morning coffee and tea delivery were wonderful.

The evening lectures were also very informative and worth attending.

The gift shop has a wide array of items that were priced very reasonably.

Reports from guests who used the spa was very favorable.

The location is great and only a few minutes away from the airport.  Wildlife is surrounding the resort and you will frequently see it all around you.

They need to update the property and turn to alternative energy (perhaps solar?) so that the electricity and hot water outages are resolved.

Had tents beautifully situated on the river banks with elephants, hippos, baboons, etc. as neighbours. The service level was really great, as was the location. However, the noise from the airstrip nearby was a daily annoyance.
The tents were noticeably worn and should probably be renovated/renewed soon.

Highly recommended ! Our experience at Mara Intrepids far exceeded our expectations. We can't thank the manager Mr.Gregory enough for ensuring our safety was of the highest priority (we had an issue with our transfer out of Mara, and he promptly arranged for an alternative). The staff was very welcoming and courteous, and took care of every small detail for a comfortable stay. Meals and safari game drive was included in the package. The food was fantastic , with muticourse meals thrice a day, that caters to vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Special appreciation for our guide Mr. Paul who was very friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. He ensured we had an amazing experience with our game drive, and we saw every animal from our checklist.

We had a magical time here. Our guide, Paul, was amazing and the staff was so attentive and professional. The accomodations were impressive for a safari camp. The Mara is brimming with must-see wildlife and as-seen-on-tv locations.

We had the most incredible stay at Mara Intrepids. The camp exceeded all expectations and our room was stunning over looking the river. Huge variety of food and great quality too. We didn’t want for anything during our stay, and the staff were incredible. We would like to say a special thank you to Sakut our safari guide who was hugely knowledgeable and friendly, Kenneth who looked after us throughout food service and always made sure we had everything we needed. Lake Elementaita is accessible by air via the nearest airstrip at Nakuru, followed by a short road transfer, or directly by road from Nairobi, offering a scenic route into the Rift Valley.

Exploring the area is best done by vehicle, with many lodges offering guided tours and transfers to key attractions around the lake and within the conservancy.

From 1 January 2024, Kenya has implemented an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) system, abolishing traditional visa requirements. Most visitors must obtain an eTA prior to travel, except citizens from exempted countries. The eTA is valid for single entry but allows re-entry from other EAC countries if still valid.

Lake Elementaita

While in season, the flamingos add some life to the place. The hot water springs (Maji moto) are nice but crowded mostly. As is typical of most water bodies, it provides a relaxing environment for thought and reflection as well as just relaxing. However, to experience  extra services in relation to the lake you will need to use available hotels.

Beauty and peace is what you have here. Of you don't make any noise you would here only the birds. Unfortunately the hotel I was staying in was located in the side where flamingos do not come. A must visit place. The lake, birds and quite. There are couple of hotels near the lake to choose from. You could walk-in for the day or stay over. I would strongly suggest stay over.

Lake Elementaita basin has one of the oldest archeological sites belonging to the Oldowan period, with stone tools dating to 700,000 years ago found at Kariandusi. The Obsidian mines at the Eburru Mountains are evidence of Obsidian trade dating over 3000 years ago. Subsequently, the region was occupied by pastoral Neolithic, later the Maasai pastoral community who called it “Elementaita”. During the colonial occupation, the whole area between Elementaita and Naivasha was taken over and used for livestock and wildlife ranching by Lord Delamere

It was gazetted as a National Wildlife Sanctuary in 2010 and listed together with Lakes Nakuru and Bogoria as the Kenya Lakes System in the Great Rift Valley World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011.

I sadly failed to also doo a trip advisor review and give this magical place 5 stars. We visited yesterday 9 January for lunch in the restaurant. We were made so welcome and enjoyed several hours relaxing at the resort. The staff are all very friendly and professional, the setting is spectacular and the lunch was delicious. All the food was overseen by Chef Kennedy and the table service excellent. Thank you for a lovely time in this special place. Highly recommended.i imagine it would be superb to stay overnight and enjoy the rooms .

It's a great place to be for sure. A great view indeed. The rooms are well designed with a unique style. The staff committee is so welcoming. I really enjoyed the place.

Fantastic camp for a luxury safari experience,  could not fault any aspect of my stay.
The rooms are fabulous, with everything you could need, with extras like extra bug spray , (essential for any bush stay) toiletries in the bathroom, and the hotel spa toiletries smell divine, also available to purchase in the gift shop.
The service was exceptional, each evenings turn down service included a hot water bottle on your bed, ideal for colder evenings, the waiting staff, Mary,  Cynthia, Mike and Charles were lovely and very helpful. The manager and assistant manager at the camp were great and ensured all guests were taken care of.
Every meal, from breakfast to dinner, was absolute pleasure; and they were incredible in accommodating to various dietary requirements (vegetarian,  gluten free).
The safari guides were very knowledgeable , we had Joseph, who is a great guide.
The views of the river from the deck, allowed us to witness various mini crossings during our stay.
I could not recommend Entim camp highly enough.

I have to start by pointing out that I started crying from the overwhelming beauty this camp provides. The river view with all the greenery and the sunset was breathtaking. You get to enjoy your food watching the rhinos play in the river and at night listen to them eat around the camp. This definitely didn’t feel like a camp, it more felt like a luxurious hotel that has blended into nature in perfect harmony. The service was incredible, everyone was very sincere and professional, they always made us feel at home. We really didn’t want to go, and wanted make that tent our forever home. The park and the camp was an experience worth everything. We have stayed in luxurious hotels before and my partner works in the industry but they still managed to impress us. Our game driver Tinka went beyond to get us to see all the beauty Masai Mara has to offer. We definitely recommend sundowners and a picnic breakfast also don’t miss out the horse back-riding safari with the bush breakfast. There are no words or photos enough to explain you what we felt there, but I can assure you it’s a feeling you won’t get anywhere else and you won’t ever forget. Thank you to everyone for the special memories.

Everything about this experience was 50/10 excellent! Everyone is so friendly, accommodating, helpful! Food is great, it is not fenced so animals can come right up to our tents but we felt safe the entire stay at all hours. Food is impeccable!

Being escorted to our tents by them was an experience filled with laughter and interesting stories about the Maasai culture and the surrounding wilderness.

Absolutely out of this world - simply the best place to come if you want to go on safari in the Masai Mara. We saw more than we could have hoped for in our three night stay - including the wildebeest migration across the river m, right in front of the camp. And on top of that the camp is extraordinarily comfortable and well appointed, with amazing food and just the loveliest staff. We can’t wait to return and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We booked direct with the camp which we’d recommend - they still arrange your flights in etc & we felt very well taken care of.

Sweetwaters Serena Camp

The tent is very nice decorated. The staffs are very nice and bring warm water bottle bag to warm your bed in the evening. It is very close to where various animals are. We saw a baboon opened our tent and took our orange. In the evening you can hear various sounds from animals. The Sky is full of stars. Definitely an unique experience. Recommend

Absolutely fantastic. The camp is located inside the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Rooms were very good. Location is incomparable. Sit on your deck and watch the animals walk past.

Wow! All tents face the watering hole that is constantly visited by wildlife. Food is great and the rooms are very comfortable. You get hot water bottles in the bed at the turndown service and all the staff is welcoming and very friendly. Power and wifi throughout, showers have amazing water pressure!

The luxury tented camp is the perfect place for everyone keen in superb wildlife watching, relaxation and a great time with family and friends. Situated within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy at a well frequented water hole, the tents are nicely set in a beautiful garden. The tents really have everything a luxurious stay needs, staff is very friendly, helpful and well trained. Food is also very good with lots of choices for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegan.
We come for more than a decade now and are looking forward to our next stay!

I spent three nights here and it was so difficult to leave. Such a wonderful experience. The animals come so close to the tents and rooms, including elephants, rhinos and lions (of course they have a safety feature to protect both animals and guests) And great wifi all over the camp.
